Why is the oval hoop much more expensive? A good, sturdy oval hoop is more difficult to make than the more common round hoop. In this case, the oval hoops I have available are meant for industrial use (machine embroidery). The hoop will always maintain its shape and has very good metal fittings. While expensive, it IS a lifetime investment. You only need to purchase one!! I, myself, find the oval hoop the one I reach for the most -- it is particularly good for monograms and borders. It offers a longer working space that can be reached by fingers from behind. |
